I can't give any more advice than this

Hi team

I have been away at a the "National Problem Solving Conference" this week, I do like learning new ideas and forward thinking. I also love hearing and watching people who are passionate about a field they love.

But even with new ways of thinking, and AI and all sorts in the world nowadays, I also think:

"You can't do the fancy stuff, until you do and master the fundamentals first."

Anyway, I have got back and not really digested anything but last week I saved this to post and share with you.

This is some advice from legendary strength coach Dan John. (read his books) his work is not just about strength and fitness. His advice has helped me be husband, father, brother, son and better person.

Last week, his email mentioned "game-changers" - what are this things in life that changed the game, and made it better, or elevated it to a new level?

Here is his list and I can't seen to argue with it.

"Here are the lists of what I consider true gamechangers:

The Three Lifting Gamechangers

1. Loaded carries

2. Olympic lifts

3. Kettlebells

Conditioning Gamechangers

1. Stadium steps and hill sprints

2. Kettlebell snatch tests

3. Junk mileage…those 10,000 steps a day

Diet and Supplements

1. Coffee and later fasting

2. Atkins/Paleo/MLB

3. Water

4. Honorable mentions: fish oil and magnesium

Performance

1. Don’t judge too soon—wait until long after.

2. Performance means stepping up when your name is called.

3. Practice arousal and tension to mimic competition.

Finances

1. Being debt free is a joy.

2. Handle things early in life.

3. Automate finances.

Parenting

1. No TV on school nights.

2. Menu, shopping list, and family dinner.

3. Ask your kids’ opinions and read their books.

Success

1. Show up.

2. Don’t quit.

3. Ask questions.

Dogs

1. Go to the pound.

2. Be the alpha.

3. Consistency makes them secure.

Random

1. Listen to your kids.

2. Leave places better than you found them.

3. Stick with one airline and hotel chain. Loyalty pays.

That’s my list. Gamechangers in lifting, life, and beyond."

What are your workouts?

While at the hotel for the conference, I didn't manage to get to the gym as it was packed everyday as soon as the conference finished and then closed at 2100hrs.

However, I did get home and did some shoulder presses, and chin ups just to get blodd flowing and muscles pumping.

The Saturday Morning Bootcamp is alive and kicking again and the team is being added to each week which is great!

So if you want to get your workout done and dusted while everyone else is asleep! come down to the community centre at 0800hrs on Saturdays!

What are you listening to?

One of my favourite bands are coming to England at the end of October and I'm seeing them play in November.

They just released a full concert at Red Rocks, so here are The Red Clay Strays live at Red Rocks.

They are a killer rock n roll band.
