It Was My 40th Birthday Last Week. Here is What I have learned.

Hi team,

I turned 40 last week, I know, I know shocking right because I look 39 right??

My better half and I, spent 2 night in London and went to 58th Street Jazz club, which was like stepping into 1930s underground Jazz bar in New York, the band was awesome and the waitress/waiters all helped with the immersive experience with storytelling and great jazz music. There was a 5 course meal included which was incredible.

I highly recommend it for a great night out!

The second night in London was a trip to see Hamilton. It is something I have always wanted to see and great performances all around.

I always love to see people that are talented and committed to what they do. I also love any live music.

After having 2 kids, spending 2 nights in a hotel, Shellz and I managed to catch up on 5 years of not sleeping!

Now, that I have caught up on sleep I may be 40 but I feel 25!

Looking back over 40 years there are a few things that I keep being reminded of:-

  • Drink water

  • Eat fruits and veggies

  • Never go 3 days without doing some sort of exercise

  • Nothing good happens after 11pm (in my 20's it was after 2am like in How I Met Your Mother) but being in the police and getting older I have learned nothing good happens after 11pm.

  • Spend more time with friends and make the effort to.

  • Learn to cook 5 good meals

  • Show up in whatever context that means.

Another free workout for you.

This is the most simple workout that can be done 2 days a week and only has 2 moves per workout!

I cant make it more simple for anybody.

2 exercises per workout and 2 days a week.

The thing is, You have to make those 2 moves intense and challenge yourself.

In-between the workouts, go for walks, runs, go to a fitness class (there is a great one on a Saturday morning at the community centre in Charlbury 8am)

Eat well - you know what that means.

Show up and be consistent.

What are you watching?

I love Jack Lalanne - this advice he gave in 1960's still hold up today. By the way he lived 97 years old. His wife Elaine Lalanne is still alive and thriving at 98 too. There is a video with her that she posted on youtube last week below too.

What are you listening to?
